China's top procuratorate draws bottom line for prosecutors' ethics
China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) issued basic norm of prosecutors' work ethics in its latest efforts to weed out corruption and uphold justice.
The prosecutors should be "loyal, just, clean and civilized", said the 48-article norm made public Tuesday.
It also banned prosecutors from using their position to seek personal gain or pervert justice for bribes including gifts, securities or tour package.
The SPP's Prosecutor-General Cao Jianming said earlier this year that all procuratorates should carefully study and carry out the norm after it was issued.
"All prosecutors should adhere to the professional bottom line of being clean and frugal," he said.
